Who are we?
Coquet Valley Trails is a not-for-profit set up to further cycling and other outdoor activities in Rothbury and the Coquet Valley. We organise coaching days, volunteering days, and large scale events, and we maintain paths across a vast area.
If you are a landowner or land manager and would like to talk to us about surveys, route creation, design and management or community engagement, please get in touch.
As a not-for-profit, we have three key tenets:
Provide inclusive off-road cycling opportunities for people of the Coquet Valley;
Maintain, manage and , in the right place, create trails;
Act as a catalyst for economic opportunities within Rothbury and the surrounding area while protecting nature.
You will soon be able to donate to Coquet Valley Trails via the link below.
This money will be used to:
Train Volunteers in trail building leadership through formal courses.
Offer formal coaching activities for all skill levels.
Cover trail building public, and employers’ liability for volunteers (This is separate to event insurance)
Pay for tools
Pay contractors when our internal skills won’t suffice (For example, tackling windblown timber or grading accessible paths)
Fund opportunities for children and those who may not be able to access cycling easily
Develop “honeypot” routes, starting and ending in Rothbury, that give people a chance to connect with nature.
