About Coquet Valley trails.
As a not-for-profit, we have three key tenets:
Provide inclusive off-road cycling opportunities for residents of the Coquet Valley;
Maintain, manage and where appropriate create trails;
Act as a catalyst for economic opportunities within Rothbury and the surrounding area.
The Coquet Classic event fulfilled all three of these key tenets; however, as a not-for-profit with no employees, the workload is not sustainable in the long term, both financially and practically.
We want to keep the event entry fee for the Coquet Classic as low as possible to enable participation.
To do this, we need sponsorship and funding. Any profits generated will be reinvested into the community, and we will publish our accounts yearly.
You will soon be able to donate to Coquet Valley Trails via the link below.
This money will be used to:
Train Volunteers in trail building leadership through formal courses
Cover trail building public, and employers’ liability (This is separate to event insurance)
Pay for tools
Pay contractors when our internal skills won’t suffice (For example, tackling windblown timber)
Fund opportunities for children and those who may not be able to access mountain biking easily

This is an old-school form of racing that rewards riders who can read terrain and ride consistently fast but within their limits. Timing will be provided by SportIdent.

The entry fee for the event is £60. Parking is free.

The event is a single day enduro, and as such we offer no camping or overnight provision. However, should you choose to stay longer, Rothbury has lots to offer. It has its own council-maintained pump track and bike track. There are numerous walks along the beautiful River Coquet to enjoy as well as a range of amenities such as cafes, bars, pubs, art galleries and independent shops to enjoy. If you enjoy gravel bike riding, you may have stumbled across heaven.

Absolutely. We have lots of volunteers but our most critical need is for marshals. We offer £50 to cover your expenses, as well as a packed lunch. If you are interested to know more, please email: info@coquetclassic.co.uk with “marshal” as the subject line.
